Short News Day, but Long Drive June 8

Didn't meet anybody today, that we're haven't seen before. We didn't even see any moose. So instead, revisiting one of yesterday's moose (video previously unseen).
Thank you for the indulgence.

Not our quickest start in the morning but we finally pushed off at 9:30.
Headed back south via the west coast and was keeping a keen eye open for whale spouts, but instead, only saw one small lost iceberg (not usually found outside iceberg alley).
At some point, also saw a boat in the distance, sticking up behind some trees. Knew that it was neither a fishing point nor a cruise ship, and had to get a closer look. And of course, it was the ferry, leaving for Labrador.
We had stopped at the ferry dock, during our north bound trip, but the ferry wasn't  there at the time. This time we caught it just as it was closing up and leaving.

Later on, we took a side road
to check out the salmon ladders at the fisheries  interpretation center.
Unfortunately, not opened yet. Too bad because you get to see the salmon, through under water windows, climb up the ladders , instead of fighting up the falls.

From there, we went on to the Gros Morne National Park , stopping to take pictures,
as though we hadn't  enough from before, AND we took one more trail, that went along a stream that emptied into the ocean.
Here, we were able to grab two seaside chairs and simply sit back until Michael got shpilkes (look it up!), and couldn't sit any longer.
Pity, it was just glorious there.
Exiting the park, roughly a 45 minute drive to the hotel:

We've parked ourselves in Deer Lake, (it tantalizingly warmed up to 70f/21c, but it won't last) and now doing laundry. It can't always be sunshine and lollipops!
