St. John's 2nd Day June 28
Sure sign that I ain't getting any younger....the last time I had to slather my knee with Voltaren, it wasn't until I'd been running around for 2 months. This time, I started walking funny after barely a month. I succumbed today and plastered myself with ointment.
It was a warm day but windy. Michael actually lost his breath when he came out at the top of the Cabot Tower, at Signal Hill, where we went next.
We started the day with a short drive to Cape Spear-
(I'm not THAT fat: still wearing two jackets)
and the lighthouses to see, there are the remnents from a WWII bunker, and heavy artillery.

There is a trail that you can take from the top of Signal Hill, right down to the harbour. I know that I did it the last time I was here, but for the life of me, I can't remember how I got to the top of the hill. I'm sure that I didn't walk and I wouldn't have left my rental..... maybe, I took a cab. https://photos.app.goo.gl/PfwbfRTdfiJDhSUM9. What I do remember, is that I did the trail on Canada Day, and they shot the cannon, maybe 21 times, while I was on the trail.I hit the dirt. Scared the crap out of me. From there, we went to Quidi Vidi Village, a neighborhood of St. John's. Went to a brewery for lunch but they didn't actually serve food. Had to go back out to get food from a food truck and bring it back to the brewery. I thought that was annoying but got over it pretty quickly because the food was sensational. And my cloud berry beer was very tasty, too.

We watched the owner board this yacht, the Archimedes. He's worth 25 odd billion, the boat cost 75 million Euros, and it costs 8-10 million to run. The owner's bio also very interesting.https://www.superyachtfan.com/yacht/archimedes/
Michael asked me whether it's too late to start a hedge fund.
Checked out some other boats at the harbour. And had a nice chat with a fisherman who owned the boat he was on, plus the one tied up next to it.He was currently fishing for crab. Glen confused me because I thought that the seas were being emptied of fish, and that it's a hard way to make a living. But he seemed to think that there are more fish than ever before. Weird to me, because there really aren't a lot of fishing boats out anymore.
Once again, nether one of us particularly hungry, but we shared a club sandwich at a pub on George St to pass the time, and listen to some music.
Forecast for tomorrow is 80% chance of rain, so have in door stuff planned.
