Bonavista Day 2 June 20

After breakfast, drove back to the lighthouse.
This time besides wearing my spring jacket, and then my down puffy jacket and toque, layered on my full length puffy coat and hood and managed to not completely freeze my ass off. Watched the puffins fly round and round and then took a tour of the lighthouse.https://photos.app.goo.gl/zSZhVq1xAYjs9Xbq7
I even tried to take a picture with my camera in front of my binoculars. One of these days, will have to get a telephoto lens.
Found the lighthouse tour unexpectedly interesting.

In particular, found interesting the number of flags used to warn of different conditions. And the lighting system that was used until the 1960s using gas canisters that lit up rotating copper, on the outside and real silver on the inside, dishes .Now it's an electric light that is used.
After the lighthouse, we went to check out The Dungeons, once more.

We were getting hungry again, qu'elle surprise, and headed up the coast to the neighboring village of Elliston, famous for their Root Cellars,
and Puffins!
Had a little bit of a walk....
And then, THERE BE PUFFINS!
CLOSE enough to touch! Didn't need the binoculars!

We lucked out that a few friendly birds came over to our hill. Most, stayed on the neighboring cliff.
From there, we succumbed and went for lunch.

And then off to see the replica of the ship, The Matthew, that Cabot had sailed on.

Housed in this drydock. From there, on to one more Canada Parks museum

By this time, Michael had called it quits and I was on my own, to go for a walk.
