Going to Dildo June 24

After breakfast, packed up the car, said one last goodbye to the chickens,
and we were off into the fog again.
The sun broke through every once in a while. But warm air with proximity to cold seas, and you have the recipe for thick fog.
I had been concerned about what we were going to do in Grand Bank since we were not going to St. Pierre any longer, but we had been on the go the entire time.
Now, just one last stop to make before hitting the Trans Canada Highway again. And after two hours of driving, we arrived at an antique car museum. This collection was started roughly 25 years ago by a Newfie who had made his fortune sinking hydro electric poles throughout the province. He is there to show off his collection and he pours back the proceeds from admissions, back into the community. He only buys rare cars and he knows all the car guys like Jay Leno and has been featured on well known car shows.  All the cars are still driven at some point.
This is his favorite, worth a million bucks, literally.
My favorite was a pink Impala with matching upholstery.
Or the DeSoto with the built in record player.
This Cadillac has seats that you could flip to change the upholstery.
He says that he was actually scared when he first took the amphibious boat (successfully) out on the water.
and here's a few more pics

And here's my next car, a BMW hybrid, just as soon as I come up with the 200 grand.
In the meantime, one of the workers gave me a ride to the chip wagon for lunch. I only rated an ATV ride.
From there, it wasn't too long a drive to Dildo but still a nail biter with the fog. Finally, we arrived at the Boat House Inn. There's a restaurant on the first floor and the rooms are on the second. BLEEP, more stairs to climb.
Supper was at a brewery down the street. Before the musical entertainment, we had another show. One of the kids had dropped their cell phone into the water. First they tried to scoop it up with a net but it wasn't long enough. A waitress came back with a pole to make the net longer. And when I wasn't looking, they actually fished it up.

There's no end to what they deep fry here. At lunch I tried skinny (ironic name) chippers (extra deep fried potato chips).
And at the brewery, Michael had garlic shrimp while I had deep fried pankoed lobster tails .
Tomorrow, would like to go for a boat ride but the forecast is calling for rain and it looks like it actually will be a rainy day. But we'll see.  Have all my fingers crossed.
BTW, odometer has rolled over 7000 km.
