Last day in Miramichi July 16

Very slow day today. Nothing much here to grab our attention. After breakfast, we went to a Canadian historic site,.   (some of these trees are over 200          years old)
basically a 2 km long island, that you get to via a pontoon ferry. There WAS a lot of history here. But now, it's trees and mosquitos. And that's it.  You haven't been on a walk in the woods until you've gone with Michael. He is convinced that every mosquito is zeroing in on him, and him alone.  He becomes energized and waves and flaps his arms up and down, and swears and curses. Always a fun time.https://photos.app.goo.gl/HyR7DZXiveSen1DE6
After lunch, we took a gander at a kite festival.

And at the end of the afternoon, we took a 90 minute ride down the Mariachi river.

And because I couldn't resist dessert at supper (deep fried bananas),I took a little evening walk around town.
There truly is not much to see here but they do pack in a lot of monuments in their one town square.
Tomorrow, we embark on another very long drive, back to Quebec. Traveling to Percé.
