Long Drive to Percé July 17

There are quicker ways to get home, but I put Percé on the itinerary because I figured, that it was now or never.
Goodbye, Miramichi.....sorry, but I won't miss you....you were just a way station.A few early bird kites flew past us.
And on the busy highway, a mother duck guided her babies across the road and  somehow they all made it across safely. It took us almost 3 hours to get to Campbelltown and once we crossed the bridge,we were back in Quebec. Very soon afterwards, the drive became more scenic as we hugged the shoreline, almost all the way up..  (there are salt box houses here, too)
Then, just as we approached the city limits for Percé, it started to rain. Huge heavy drops plop plop plop. And Ile Bonaventure, began to disappear from view. What lousy timing, I thought. But almost as soon as it had started, it stopped, and we pulled into a campground to have a look and take some pics before it started to rain again.
But for the remainder of the day, all we had were blue skies!
The town is bustling with tourists.
We sat on some lounge chairs for a while, saw some seals swim by,  and then walked up and down the boardwalk.

(I like the gannets on the shutters)
And here are few more pics:

I always wondered why people made such a big deal about a rock, but it's not just the rock, it's the entire coastline.
The Rock is just the icing on the cake .I never really expected to come out here. It feels surreal to be here.
We're staying in a tiny cabin. And we walked to town. Just one more day here and then we'll continue to go north towards the town off Gaspé.
