P.E.I. Day 2 .July 11
We had a beach day! Almost forgot what that was like . Off we went to Cavendish Beach, a national park, known for it's sand dunes.
I put on a bathing suit. I put on my water shoes. And I almost got into the water. Brrrrrr......kind of cold. I did go in as far as my knees, and then started an argument with myself. Go in, it's not like I have that many chances to go in the ocean. Then, followed by, why go in and risk hypothermia? Ah, come on, other people are in the water and not screaming. But the voice that won out, was, nah, just not worth it. I'm ashamed of myself for copping out.
Managed to take a little walk on a rubber floating boardwalk.https://photos.app.goo.gl/KqcBfp5Bbb8jV79k7.

I dragged Michael there afterwards and we saw eagles flying overhead. This past week we've seen deer, eagles and bunny rabbits, but no moose. But Michael continues to scan for them.
We left the park around 5 o'clock, tummies rumbling. But before we set out for dinner, we made one more stop, to check out a campground that we had stayed at, about 50 (FIFTY??!!!) years ago. And it's still very pretty.

Then half way back to Charlottetown, we found a restaurant on the water. I wanted to eat outside, Michael did not. If he had had his camera with the telephoto lens, we would have been outside. But no camera..... so now, he's too cold. All around the area, there is seafood farming. At this location, they were harvesting oysters and mussels.(growing mussels in the bay)
This restaurant also had a tall pole, with an osprey nest on top (but Michael didn't have his camera, so we stared at it from inside the restaurant, from afar).
After dinner, one of the birds (there were the two adults and babies) did me a favor, and flew over to a telephone wire.
We have no intention of driving around the entire island of PEI, but so far, from what we've seen, gorgeous rolling hills, lots of red dirt roads and very nice homes. Until we reached Springhill, I thought that Nova Scotia, like Newfoundland, seemed very prosperous. Springhill, seems stuck.... doesn't seem to have moved on since the coal mines closed down. But overall, I'm starting to think that the Quebec regions, outside of Montreal, look a lot less prosperous than the Maritimes (why do they continue to support this premier???).

Almost directly across the street, from where we're staying, a live band performs every night, outside, at a beer garden. Tonight's band was playing my type of music and made for easy listening. But now, it's time to call it a night. Yikes! Have no plans for tomorrow.
