P.E.I. Day 4 July 13

Here's a picture of our host. Check out the goofy grin (not on Michael). He's always smiling ear to ear (meant the host).
So, I said that we weren't going to drive all over P.E.I., but today we almost did just that. We probably would have driven further, but we had a show to go to, in the evening.
We drove to an attraction of 3 buildings built out of bottles. Why did we do that? Because it was there. This was the cheesy type of thing that I would expect to do if I ever got to drive down Route 66, in the States.
Included some nice gardens, as well.
25,000 bottles later, continued on to Summerside, P.E.I.'s second largest city where we had lunch. They have a lovely boardwalk to walk down but it was too bloody hot with not enough shade.
So we continued on back down the coast. Grabbed a couple of long distance shots of The Confederation Bridge.
And because it was bugging me, had to find out what was growing in this lovely green field. It's rapeseed (canola)!
One last cute town to visit, Victoria on the Sea, along the red sand beaches, but the tide was only half way out.
For supper, I finally got Michael to share a bucket of mussels with me. I had been afraid to try them. Somebody should have told me that they're just like eating escargots but with more butter (that's my interpretation).
Walked around a little bit before it was time to go to the theater, around the corner from where we're staying.
We saw a play called Betty's Song.
"After being widowed far too young, Betty is left with a pile of bills and the inheritance of a single lobster boat. Somewhere between raising her daughter and spending Saturday nights at the Slanty Shanty, she becomes one of the first women to captain her own lobster boat in Eastern P.E.I.
This quirky coming-of-age story takes you through the perils of a tough lobster lady raising a saucy teenager in 1990s Murray Harbour North. Created and performed by Island singer-songwriter Ashley Condon, this funny and heartfelt show features original music and enough memories to fill a family photo album." True story.

I think this was the hottest day yet. Probably because there was some humidity. Any hotter, and I won't be able to detach Michael from the air conditioner.
Last day here tomorrow and I still haven't made it to the ice cream factory!
