April 17 Tokyo
As usual, we covered a lot of territory today. For something different, headed to an Aquarium Art Museum. Got off at the correct station, then hmmmm.....which way should we walk? As it happens, we were right outside a well known department store, Mitsukoshi Ginza, that we've been to before, and seeing as it was just about to open for the day, decided to watch the opening ceremony, where all the clerks bow for the first customers of the day. Then we asked one of the clerks to direct us to the museum, thinking that it was across the street. But it happened to be on the top floor of the department store. So found it totally by accident. And I'm quoting:
"The aquarium is headed by self-described ‘art aquarium producer’ Hidetomo Kimura, who sees goldfish as living pieces of art and wanted to create a space where people can admire and appreciate these mesmerising creatures.
Here you can view thousands of goldfish swimming in glass vessels of all shapes and sizes, and they are illuminated with moving projections and multicoloured lights. You’ll find both rare and common goldfish on display across the museum’s nine exhibition spaces including the Origamirium, the Goldfish Bamboo Grove and the Goldfish Corridor."
It was relocated to this building in 2022.
Afterwards, moseyed a little in the store, but retreated before anything serious happened.
Studied the stuffed animal goldfish, but decided not to add to my collection, just yet.
It got a little trickier bypassing the purses.140,000 yen only about 140.00 Canadian, but tax free!
Across the street from this store, is a Seiko store with a big clock with an electronic loud bong Big Ben copycat.
A little further down the street was a tall Hermes store totally encased in Corning Glass. We headed to the Tokyu Plaza because there was a kaleidoscope entrance that I wanted to see . (maybe we'll get to see it the NEXT time we come to Tokyo)
Little did I know that it wasn't a shopping center but just the name of a store. So, the Tokyo Plaza that I wanted was somewhere else. Not a total waste though..... Michael enjoyed the Star Trek pop up.
From here, we got back on the train, and went a little further out. Thought that we were going to a Kit Kat chocolate factory. But I screwed up again. It was only a kiosk in the basement of another department store. Actually, the entire floor, was dedicated to chocolate. Then we went to the rooftop, where there was another park, and some pop up places to eat. Travelled 10,000 km just to have a hotdog.
After a coffee break, we headed back on the train, to go to the National Museum of Emerging Science.
The main draw for me to go to this museum, was to see a giant robot in action. But apparently, he died last year. Not all that much of interest for us here.
Team Planet was fabulous but completely tired me out, which is why I could not finish this blog last night.
At this point, I'm going to put the rest of my pics on a link. There is one video, that appears black. Please watch anyways for the audio. I was hysterical because could not navigate through one of the rooms, like a deep foam spongy surface.Another one of the rooms is filled with moving real growing orchids. So beautiful, so please try to access

Actually, just waiting to board the ship.
Would you believe that, as of yet, they have yet to ask for our PCR test result?
But they did ask for our vaccinations.
Long tiring days. Haven't even had a chance to read my newspapers yet.
But it's been good. Just looking forward to getting on the ship.
