April 24. Sea day enroute to Taiwan

Because it's a sea day, decided to do laundry, which opens at 8, as long as I could wake up in time. Wasn't going to bother to set an alarm if I could actually sleep in. No worries, woke up at 6:45 and got myself out the door. Laundry just down our hallway. My laundry bag was full enough for me to sit on, like a bean bag chair (I should have taken a pic), and I parked myself across the hall from the laundry room. Only 6 machines, so wanted to be sure to grab one. Eventually, people came down the hall, letting me know that there had been a time change, and the clocks had been pushed back an hour. PERFECT. I had thought that I'd seen something to that effect somewhere, but no announcement had been made at the evening show, and nobody knew what I was talking about, so in my current dazed state, just imagined that I had dreamt it. So now I had time, to get an espresso to go, and maybe a croissant. And then back to my vigil waiting for the alloted hour for the door to open . But before that happened, the laundry room attendant came to check on whatever his job is, but refused to let me in, or now, another lady waiting in line (coincidentally, someone who lives in Kirkland). He explained that they could not open early, because that would disturb the passengers in the nearby cabins. I tried to explain to him, that regardless, people were going to be more disturbed, as we were becoming a throng in the hallway, and not everyone knows how to whisper. But rules ARE rules.
Unfortunately, today is a cool rainy sea day. There were still people in the pool and hot tubs but never got around to it.
Attended another lecture with Col Klinck and then watched a video, of a guest speaker, on one of the ships, just before covid started. The ship had a stop in Gdansk and they managed to get Lech Walesa on board. What a great speaker he was, with the help of his interpreter, who he had brought for the passengers, because THEY didn't speak Polish.
In fact, this was going to be the start of a new program, where they were going to try and get more Nobel Peace Prize winners to come speak for the enrichment program, but all that went to hell, with covid. But sounds like they might attempt to get this initiative off the ground, again .
He was passionate and eloquent about rights and freedoms.
Most unfortunately, at the bar before dinner, the bartender doubled my appletini order, and because I'm a nice person, I felt obliged to drink both, and THEN, for good measure, had a third. And then, for some reason, I slept through the evening show. If only I could sleep that well, at night.
